In Los Angeles and Orange County termites cause millions of dollars of damage each year. Nationwide, thousands of homes suffer termite damage, requiring $5 billion in treatments and repairs each year.
Regular inspections by Admiral Pest Control are the only way to ensure your home is, and remains, free from termites and the damage that they cause. Our licensed inspectors have the training in termite biology and behavior to identify, prevent and treat both Drywood and Subterranean Termite infestations — the most common Orange County termite problem.
How do I know if I have Termites?
You’re more likely to discover you have a termite problem by discovering the evidence they leave behind, rather than the actual termites themselves. If you encounter any of these signs, there’s a good chance you have a termite infestation:
- Piles of small, delicate wings shed by swarmers
- Small piles of sawdust or termite droppings (Frass)
- Mud tubes built by Subterranean Termites for above-ground travel
- Damaged or hollow sounding wood
- Pinholes in drywall or wallpaper
Of course, it’s quite possible to have a hidden termite problem even if you never notice any of these signs. The best way to be sure is to contact Admiral Pest Control to conduct a complete inspection of your home.
I have Drywood Termites. Now what?
Admiral Pest Control offers several different treatment methods designed to meet your needs.
For more severe infestations, Admiral utilizes whole structure fumigation with Vikane gas to ensure 100% elimination of Drywood Termite infestations. This method is the only whole structure treatment that eliminates both detectable and non detectable Drywood Termite colonies. Admiral has been providing Orange County Termite protection since 1947. Needless to say, we have had a lot of experience. For more information on whole structure fumigation with Vikane, call our office or visit www.termitetenting.com. Also, the University of California at Berkeley has a great website that can answer many of your questions about Vikane gas and why we use Vikane gas versus any other treatment. Click here to visit that site.
Besides fumigation, Admiral Pest Control offers other Drywood Termite treatment methods. Admiral uses environmentally friendly Bora-Care for local and preventative treatments. Bora Care is a low toxicity wood preservative that has a low environmental impact. With Bora-Care, once the wood is treated it is no longer a food source and termites cannot infest, nor live in, the wood. And Bora-Care will remain in the wood for the life of the wood. Twelve years of efficacy studies and 16 years of treatments in the field have shown Bora-Care’s ability to prevent termites and other wood-destroying insects from consuming wood or tubing over treated wood to reach untreated wood. Bora- Care treatments can be used in addition to fumigation to make sure Termites cant re-infest your home. For more information on Bora- Care, call our office or visit Nisus Bora- Care Website
I have Subterranean Termites. Now what?
If Subterranean Termites are your problem, Admiral Pest Control uses Termidor S.C to make sure these tireless wood eaters are taken care of. Whenever a termite ingests or touches Termidor, it becomes a “carrier,” transferring Termidor to other termites it contacts. These termites, in turn, can become secondary carriers, behaving normally while they transfer Termidor to other termites they contact—and so on within the colony. Because Termidor is slow-acting, it gives individual termites ample time to transfer it to others in the population. This unique, spiraling process is called the “Transfer Effect,” and its devastating results maximize the protection of your structure. For more information on Termidor S.C call or office or visit http://www.termidorhome.com.
